…but inside we’ve got yummy goodies! These are the result of my Christmas baking this week:

I thought these ones looked very pretty, except putting the little red and green trees were taking a really long to put on, and the dough was drying out on me. So after doing a few like this, I sprinkled the rest with red sugar (see top picture).

I’ve been quite happy to stay indoors for most of the week. It’s been bitterly cold this week, and we started getting more snow last night. It’s still snowing now, and the forecast says it’ll continue overnight. Tomorrow we’ll wake up to windchill temperatures of -41. Brrrrr!

Well, with Christmas nearly upon us, I think it’s time to announce that I’ll be taking a 2 week break from blogging. I know these past few weeks I’ve been busy already, and have not posted as often as I wanted. These next 2 weeks will  be even busier, and the holidays will likely fly by. So I should simply admit that I won’t post until the new year, instead of living in denial that I’ll actually get some time to post over the next 2 weeks.

The end of the year is here, and I still have not wished you all a Merry Christmas!! So,

Christmas is always a busy time for us, as it is for many, and this year was no exception. It always seems I have more on my “to do” list than I have time to accomplish. I greatly reduced my Christmas decorating this year – I had all my decorating done within 15 minutes of getting the box down. I do admit that I miss having a full size tree, and one of these years I will make the room to have one again (and it’ll be a real one!). Among my favorite decorations is this snowman, made by my father-in-law:

I think this year he will stay out until the end of winter, as it seems too soon to pack him away.

Since the new year will soon be here, it’s time to think about what I want to accomplish in 2008. Well, I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and have some ideas, but so far nothing is written down. Some time this week will be set aside to write those plans down, and I will post at least a few of those goals here.

Well, a new year is here. I had good intentions of posting again last week, but it seems the days following the Christmas holiday are always full of things to do, and blogging just didn’t make the list.

I really enjoy welcoming a new year. I think of it as a fresh start. I usually don’t make resolutions, but I do set goals for myself. While I have not yet figured out my goals for this year, it is one of my tasks for tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. We had quite a snowy one, waking up yesterday morning to about 2 feet of snow in our yard. It made for a rather quiet day, staying home and shoveling snow, instead of going out as planned. Today has been a day of relaxing, and tomorrow it will be back to work again.
