2 more winners from The Needlework Show: Jane B. and Rosalie W.! Congratulations!

The show is now closed for viewing to the general public, but I will still be drawing 2 more names later today. I hope everyone enjoyed the show – I know I did! I now have several new designs added to my constantly growing wish list.

This was a quick stitch, which was just what I needed. I actually feel ready to get back to stitching some on Fish City, which I think I might do tonight. I’ve got to tidy up my stitching bag first; it gets so cluttered that it often is fuller than it needs to be.

Door prize winners for today from The Needlework Show are: Christine P. and Melissa M. Congratulations! I will be doing a couple of more draws throughout the weekend, so if you haven’t entered, you still have time.

The Needlework Show started yesterday afternoon. I once again have a page set up, and am offering doorprizes. I also have a new design:

I hope you enjoy the show!

I’m Done!

I finally finished “By the Sea” on Tuesday. I stayed up late to finish the backstitching – I wanted to be done! Now I need to find something small that I can finish quickly; I’m thinking I’ll stitch some ornaments.

Almost Done!

Hopefully tonight I’ll finish the cross stitching, and tomorrow I’ll be able to finish the backstitching. I’ve enjoyed stitching this, but I’m also starting to look forward to starting something new. I’m not sure what will be next, but it will be something Christmas, probably an ornament. I’ll let you know!

mmmm…cookies…

I guess because it’s been chillier here (we’ve actually turned the furnace on already!), I’ve been feeling like baking, so this morning I baked some oatmeal raisin cookies. The house smells good, and my son can come home from school and have a cookie after lunch. They did turn out a bit darker than I thought they would, but except for a few on the first pan, they didn’t burn. I always seem to burn or overbake a few on the first pan :)

Sorry, the picture is a little blurry :(

By the Sea (CS & CC magazine) progress Sept 7/08

I’ve been making lots of progress on this one since the last time I posted a picture. I’d left it for a while since I was madly working on my model, and then also knitting and crocheting. However, I’ve felt a push to get this done now, as I don’t want to start anything new until it’s done. Then, I want to start stitching some ornaments again.

In new design news, I had more stitching remaining on the model than I’d anticipated, so did not finish it the other day like I’d hoped. Today we are possibly getting our new windows in the living room and the bathroom, and that may interfere with the time I’d set aside for stitching. I should hopefully know within the hour whether it’ll happen today or tomorrow, and I can plan accordingly.

I worked on this sweater a bit on Saturday so I’m a little further than this picture shows, which was taken on Friday. With the chillier weather we’ve had in the past week, I better get moving on this. It certainly could be put to good use very soon, provided it won’t be too big for my son once it’s done. So far I have the back done, and am about 2 inches from starting the decrease on the front.

Afghan Progress

Progress at Sept 3, 2008

Progress at Sept 3, 2008

Well, I’ve gotten a few more rows done since I posted about this afghan last. Notice that pile of yarn? Well, 2 nights ago I was working on it, and I came to the end of the row I’m about to start next time, and I realized that somewhere I missed a stitch. I ended up pulling out 4 rows, and by the end of the evening I’d redone the work to the point of where I’d started that evening. Hopefully tonight I’ll make more progress on it, if I get a chance to work on it.

In cross stitch design news, I’m very near the end of stitching my latest model. If all goes well tomorrow, I should finish it. Hopefully…

…I have lots of helpers. He keeps telling me of various toys of his that are vacuuming, doing laundry, and other household chores. If only they really were :) And if only the blanket would remake the bed after my son’s done playing with the blankets. But I’m hearing his imagination at work, and I love it!

School starts soon, and my son will be taking the big step of taking bus to school. He’s excited, and I admit I won’t mind not having to drive back and forth picking him up and dropping him off. Now that he’s not napping anymore, I admit I’m looking forward to some quiet time in the house :)
